Schooling in Japan is different then America. Students are required to more than the average American kid or teenager. Japan has the same structure as American school as in they have a version of Elementary School, Middle School and High School. Japan required 16 years of schooling. The way it breaken up is 6 years of elementary school, 3 years of middle school, 3 years of high school and 4 years at universites. Students are required to take an entrance exam for high schools and college. They have an tri-semster system in schools. Student stay in a classroom most of they day and have a teachers rotate in and out of classroom the whole day. Teachers have their own room in the school, where students are not allow in unless it a special reason. Students eat in their classroom and not allow to have junk food in their lunches. Students who are in junior high or high school are wearing a required uniform in their schools. Lastly, students sometimes spend their after school hours in school in clubs or cleaning the classroom.
