Hatano won the Best Male Rookie Award for his roles of Sam Houston in Toward the Terra and Tenshi Yuri in Saint Beast: Kouin Jojishi Tenshitan. He also voiced Gajeel from Fairy Tail. He announced marriage with fellow seiyuu and stage actress Mai Hashimoto on April 2, 2018
